BRICKSQUASH

If you haven’t heard yet, the Denver based MHSM Artists Cloud-D and Resonant Language have started a collaboration project called “BrickSquash”.  With only a handful of performances to date and a freshly released debut EP, the collab is starting to turn heads as these two sound design wizards compliment each of their talents and ability to get weird, in the best wobbly way possible. Keep an eye on all three of these projects, as neither of them show any signs of slowing down. With the debut of their 4-track EP ‘BrickSquash Mafia’, we can only expect some more to come.

Sonic Bloom Brings Music & Art Lovers Together In Colorado Under The Unified Field

Colorado’s premiere electronic music festival, Sonic Bloom, had it’s 11th annual gathering this past June, and this music and art filled extravaganza packed a whole new kind of punch this year. For the second year, the festival returned to Hummingbird Ranch just outside of Rye, Colorado. A mega-stacked lineup full of Bloom favorites such as Tipper (2 sets) and The Opiuo Band, as well as Bonobo (DJ set), EOTO, Break Science and Wick-It The Instigator. The amount of local talent practically covered the entire spectrum of West Coast electronic music, courtesy of the best in the Colorado music community. As eclectic as the origins of the headliners are, the core of this festival is supported directly by the natives of the magical state of Colorado, those who rep it on their sleeve day in and day out in the studio and on stage. Some of the highlighted Colorado acts who performed were Michal Menert & The Pretty Fantastics, SunSquabi, VibeSquaD, Bass Physics, The Reminders, Mikey Thunder, SoDown, Cloud-D, Dynohunter, Templo, Skydyed, Cualli, The Dirty Gemstones, Lily Fangz, Evanoff, Tnertle, Godlazer and a surprise performance by Unlimited Aspect.

The Colorado based artist collective and record label, The Mile High Sound Movement, is no stranger to this Summer tradition, as numerous artists that are part of the collective have been prevalent within this year’s lineup and previous years as well. The MHSM members and bass music engineers Ronnie Weberg and Jay Jaramillo, aka Unlimited Gravity and Project Aspect, became a part of this event’s journey in 2008. This was just the starting line for this grassroots collective of now over 30 artists, which is proven by their relevancy within Sonic Bloom’s array of talent over the years since it’s origin.
