Unlimited Gravity Releases Massive Video & Single – Out of My Mind

By | Bass Music, Colorado, Denver, Dubstep, Music, New Music, Unlimited Gravity | No Comments
“Out Of My Mind”, the latest single released by Unlimited Gravity, stands on its own in the line of EDM tunes out right now. I think all of us can agree with feeling out of our minds on almost a daily basis, and this song is a great anthem to the everyday hustle we all experience, as well as the aggression we all harbor. It brings you straight back to those deep, grimey roots of Dubstep and you can’t help but make your best “stank” face and rage to this f**king banger. A quick song, but heavy hitting, OUT OF MY MIND is the track to release all on its own because it is everything you’d want out of an electronic bass-filled track. This track will make you feel out of your mind in all the best ways.

ARISE Music Festival 2017 – MHSM Recap & Review

The 5th year of the Arise Music Festival was a magical experience for all in attendance. Fulfilling their schedule packed with music, transformational workshops, a weekend long hangout with incredible people, the festival stepped above and beyond our expectations. The rain didn’t dampen any of our spirits, and luckily we only experienced a few scattered showers throughout the whole weekend.

The beginning of most festivals starts out the same, everyone is in a hurry to get there for the fun, then we have to wait for hours in line just to get in and set up camp. The staff at Arise this year was fully prepared to make the expected horrendous wait quick and efficient. Usually having to wait a couple hours to figure out what’s going on to get in at most festivals, this years’ wait was under an hour for the early Friday arrivers. A fury of campers unloaded their camps, popped up tents, threw out their chairs and kicked back to wait for the Friday lineup to begin.

MHSM co-founder, ProJect Aspect welcomed us to the weekend of fun on Thursday at the Hummingbird Stage. Debuting his new EP “Cortex”, he would have blown the roof off if there had been one. Dropping one of the sickest sets of the weekend, his performance was original and hyphy. His new sounds combined with his masterful abilities of improv during his live set, made for an unforgettable experience. Kruza Kid also joined him on stage for a song, sharing his lyrical talent with the crowd.

Unlimited Gravity took over the Hummingbird stage after him. Also debuting his new EP “Choose Your Direction,” this set was packed with high energy, hardcore glitch hop beats. Throwing down the glitchiest dub sounds infused with classical piano his set gave the audience all the feels. Next they brought up Steven Kuzma on a drum pad, to form the Unlimited Aspect band, the trio closed out the stage in raging fashion. Read More

Megan Hamilton Brings 10 Producers Together For Photosynthetic Remixed

by Makaela Bamonti

As if she isn’t already one of the coolest chicks in the DJ game, throw in a 10-track remix album featuring a different collab on every song, call it “Photosynthetic” and Megan Hamilton has got it down to a science. Each number is something fresh and totally unexpected. 3 New ProJect Aspect Tracks To Get You Ready For Festival Season

Project Aspect, Co-Founder of The Mile High Sound Movement, out does himself with every new authentic track. Setting the bar high for fellow electronic producers, his new EP ‘Cortex’ is a musical journey for your ears and soul. Blending vocals with original sounds each song brings you to a new level. Staying true to his unique style, each song features a collection of genres ranging from drum and bass, glitch hop, dubstep and overall high quality bass. He takes the sounds he creates, layers them a multitude of ways in each track, and ultimately surprises you towards the end of each song with the most creative sounds imaginable. Each song contains new sounds that you have never heard before, and he refines them into the most party acceptable drops, leaving you feeling like you have just heard a miracle in your ears.

The first track “Vortex Complex” is a mix of space vibe sounds, upbeat drum and bass, and sucks you into the vortex of glitch. The use of higher pitched tubular sounds, slow-mo vocals, and different space between each sound blends perfectly to bring you to the vortex for every second of the song. Second on the EP, “Cheddar Cheese & Ice Cream” blends the vocals of Lyric Lee with mechanical sounds into a smooth experience. These unique sounds come back throughout the song but each time a little bit differently, giving a new genre feel for each segment. “Dime on my Nine,” the third track, starts out slow, pulling you in with a trippy future Egyptian vibe. Blending each of the elements of this high energy song masterfully, you’ve got to hang on until the end. Around the 4:00 minute mark, the build up leads into a drop and the final segment of the song, that should go down in the history of electronic music as one of the best.

Sonic Bloom is this weekend, be sure to catch Project Aspect for his set at the Hummingbird Stage on Thursday night at 12:00AM. And, stick around after his set for Unlimited Gravity at 1:00AM. Both will be debuting their new EPs. Read More

Ryan Viser Joins MHSM, Debuts ‘Volumetric’ EP

Ryan Viser Debuts ‘Volumetric’ EP with MHSM Records

Ryan Viser’s new EP Volumetric, out May 23rd on MHSM Records, brings listeners through a four-track odyssey with sounds similar to those of Pretty Lights and GRiZ with his trumpet-laced bass, analog features, and hip hop and blues samples.

The first track, Silence, is uplifting, groovy, and energetic. The use of horns really bring it full circle and the looping of a woman singing is beautiful, full-bodied and has a little bit of old-school jazz vibes. It blends classic music and modern day electronic melodies together in an authentic way.

Next on the track, What It Means, is electronically focused, up-tempo, and fiery with a guitar solo as the center focus throughout. It’s amplitude doesn’t step back at any point – it bends in and out, begging you to feel the hymns.

N-Vision slowly pulls you forth, then drops a heavy dubstep beat in your face. It’s intense, angry almost, but expressive, and will undoubtedly pump anybody up. It cross-switches abruptly and changes shape, keeping you focused on the many sounds.
Last on the EP, History Will Judge, starts with a crescendo horn-driven note. It then goes into a layered hip-hop verse that comes out of nowhere and fits perfectly with the rhythm of the song. History Will Judge radically ends Volumetric, making listeners anticipate more of Viser’s musical vision.

FunkStatik – Living On The Edge EP

In a part of the country that is flooded with musical talent such as Denver, it has become very humbling to become part of a music community that is thriving and original as ever. The Mile High Sound Movement was founded on gathering unique and original music and we have been really excited about some of the new artists we have brought into our family recently. One of the most recent additions is Matt Rygol aka FunkStatik. After previously writing and performing his original music under the alias ‘Rygol’ while living in Nebraska, upon moving to Denver in 2014 he decided to change the alias to FunkStatik as he worked on a completely fresh new sound that resonates so well with our Colorado music lovers. Fresh and smooth, funky, glitchy bass music… or we can just call it that Mile High Sound!

Now releasing his 2nd EP on MHSM Records, this collective of 5 tracks is called “Living On The Edge” which is now available everywhere! Check it out on either of our Soundcloud pages, save it on Spotify, download and/or donate on Bandcamp.

The 4th Annual Suwannee Hulaween With Some Colorado Flavor

Halloween time is just around the corner. Soon the leaves will turn, the weather will be cool and crisp. Delectable Fall aromas will fill the air, as well as heaping loads of bass of varying FREAKquencies, at least for those attending the fourth annual Suwannee Hulaween. Vibes, tribes, ghosts, and ghouls will flood the spanish-moss draped scenery of The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park yet again for this spooktacular event, hosted by The String Cheese Incident, that has grown vastly popular in just a few short years. This sudden success comes as no surprise when you look at the legendary names that have graced the sacred Suwannee grounds since the introduction of Hula in 2013 – including STS9, Big Gigantic, Emancipator, Thievery Corporation, Shpongle, Pretty Lights, Primus, Griz and Odesza just to name a few, solidifying the event as one that integrates a multitude of genres and attracts patrons from all over the country.

Silver Wrapper and Purple Hat Productions are pulling out all of the stops to ensure that this is the most extraordinary musical extravaganza to date in Hula history, and they have curated yet another incredible lineup for 2016, including some names from the OG Hulaween and other iterations of the festival. As always, The String Cheese Incident remains the constant in the equation, as the band is scheduled to perform all three nights. SCI has been the main attraction year after year due to their enormous fan base that travels far and wide to witness their eclectic and energetic live sets that fluctuate between a staggering amount of genres – one minute they are strumming out some bluegrass and folk-inspired tunes, then reggae, then they transition to live renditions of EDM tracks. Their success among festivals like Hulaween and Electric Forest can be widely attributed to their ability to keep people on their toes from the beginning to the end of their sets, and will continue to return to these renowned events year after year. EarthCry: Anthony Thogmartin of Papadosio – Releases Solo Album ‘Sun Path’

By | Arise Music Festival, EarthCry, Music, New Music, NEWS, Papadosio | No Comments

EarthCry Enlightens Listeners Through His Modular Musical Realm

‘Sun Path’ is the latest solo album released by EarthCry— Anthony Thogmartin, Papadosio’s lyricist brainchild, producer, and guitarist. More than just a musical side project, Sun Path, is the second album in a progressive project dedicated to the fusion of experimental electronic music and an earth-minded movement. What’s truly unique about SunPath is Thogmartin’s exploration of the modular synthesizer. By manipulating the analog electric signal, it was possible to experiment and create vast organic and flowing sonic sounds. Representing Thogmartin’s own personal growth and journey to inspire, “sun path”, is a reference to the positional changes of the sun and solar energy that is emitted as our Earth rotates and orbits around the sun.

The sound of Sun Path can be described as visceral, soulful, and eclectic with a down-tempo mediterranean feel, catchy glitch-hop and funk elements, and seamless airy melodies. In addition to the electronic elements in the production of the album, Thogmartin, collaborated with a handful of musicians to incorporate indigenous instrumentation including flutes, djembes, tabla, and voiceover samples. Sun Path’s progressive and experimental union between electronic production via modular synths, and organic sounds through instrumentation and sampling is a truly a glimpse into the promising future and synthesis of music and technology.

EarthCry is performing in Denver at the MetLife Rooftop today, Monday evening August 8th. For more info click here. Read More
