Fresh off his first Red Rocks show supporting Colorado favorite and pioneer in the scene, Pretty Lights, it looks like SoDown has no plans of slowing down. With the announcement of a small CO tour covering Denver, Grand Junction, Durango, Fort Collins and Boulder, MHSM was stoked to jump on the opportunity to showcase two of our artists, FunkStatik and UNFOLD Music, alongside the rising star, SoDown w/ support from Marvel Years, at Cervantes Masterpiece on 10/13.

Both of these artists are sure to properly warm up the night in preparation for the soulful, saxophone ripping, bass music producing superstar, SoDown. Read More

ARISE Music Festival 2017 – MHSM Recap & Review
The beginning of most festivals starts out the same, everyone is in a hurry to get there for the fun, then we have to wait for hours in line just to get in and set up camp. The staff at Arise this year was fully prepared to make the expected horrendous wait quick and efficient. Usually having to wait a couple hours to figure out what’s going on to get in at most festivals, this years’ wait was under an hour for the early Friday arrivers. A fury of campers unloaded their camps, popped up tents, threw out their chairs and kicked back to wait for the Friday lineup to begin.

3 New ProJect Aspect Tracks To Get You Ready For Festival Season
The first track “Vortex Complex” is a mix of space vibe sounds, upbeat drum and bass, and sucks you into the vortex of glitch. The use of higher pitched tubular sounds, slow-mo vocals, and different space between each sound blends perfectly to bring you to the vortex for every second of the song. Second on the EP, “Cheddar Cheese & Ice Cream” blends the vocals of Lyric Lee with mechanical sounds into a smooth experience. These unique sounds come back throughout the song but each time a little bit differently, giving a new genre feel for each segment. “Dime on my Nine,” the third track, starts out slow, pulling you in with a trippy future Egyptian vibe. Blending each of the elements of this high energy song masterfully, you’ve got to hang on until the end. Around the 4:00 minute mark, the build up leads into a drop and the final segment of the song, that should go down in the history of electronic music as one of the best.
Sonic Bloom is this weekend, be sure to catch Project Aspect for his set at the Hummingbird Stage on Thursday night at 12:00AM. And, stick around after his set for Unlimited Gravity at 1:00AM. Both will be debuting their new EPs. Read More
Ryan Viser Debuts ‘Volumetric’ EP with MHSM Records
The first track, Silence, is uplifting, groovy, and energetic. The use of horns really bring it full circle and the looping of a woman singing is beautiful, full-bodied and has a little bit of old-school jazz vibes. It blends classic music and modern day electronic melodies together in an authentic way.
Next on the track, What It Means, is electronically focused, up-tempo, and fiery with a guitar solo as the center focus throughout. It’s amplitude doesn’t step back at any point – it bends in and out, begging you to feel the hymns.
N-Vision slowly pulls you forth, then drops a heavy dubstep beat in your face. It’s intense, angry almost, but expressive, and will undoubtedly pump anybody up. It cross-switches abruptly and changes shape, keeping you focused on the many sounds.
Last on the EP, History Will Judge, starts with a crescendo horn-driven note. It then goes into a layered hip-hop verse that comes out of nowhere and fits perfectly with the rhythm of the song. History Will Judge radically ends Volumetric, making listeners anticipate more of Viser’s musical vision.

Suwannee Hulaween 2016 Recap, Photos, Interview w/ Ganja White Night
Suwannee Hulaween 2016: Ghosts, Ghouls, and Grooves
There are innumerable amounts of ways that you could have spent your Halloween this October, as is the case every year. But for the last four years, there’s been one party that has proven itself triumphant among a sea of celebrations. A place rich in culture, thriving in spirit; a beloved land draped in Spanish Moss, hammocks strung as far as the eye can see, a truly majestic musical wonderland. If you aren’t catching my drift here, I’m talking about none other than Suwannee Hulaween Music Festival in Live Oak, FL – an event that has aptly been dubbed the “Electric Forest of the South”, due to its aggressively expanding popularity and of course, multiple sets from the ever-talented String Cheese Incident. Hulaween has undoubtedly become Suwannee’s most successful ongoing festival, attracting tens of thousands of live music lovers from coast to coast, all swarming like moths to a flame to get a taste of the sweet spirit of Suwannee. Telemetry Set To Make Waves In Colorado
If you haven’t heard yet, the Denver based MHSM Artists Cloud-D and Resonant Language have started a collaboration project called “BrickSquash”. Keep an eye on all three of these projects, as neither of them show any signs of slowing down. With the debut of their 4-track EP ‘BrickSquash Mafia’, we can only expect some more to come.

The 4th Annual Suwannee Hulaween With Some Colorado Flavor
Halloween time is just around the corner. Soon the leaves will turn, the weather will be cool and crisp. Delectable Fall aromas will fill the air, as well as heaping loads of bass of varying FREAKquencies, at least for those attending the fourth annual Suwannee Hulaween. Vibes, tribes, ghosts, and ghouls will flood the spanish-moss draped scenery of The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park yet again for this spooktacular event, hosted by The String Cheese Incident, that has grown vastly popular in just a few short years. This sudden success comes as no surprise when you look at the legendary names that have graced the sacred Suwannee grounds since the introduction of Hula in 2013 – including STS9, Big Gigantic, Emancipator, Thievery Corporation, Shpongle, Pretty Lights, Primus, Griz and Odesza just to name a few, solidifying the event as one that integrates a multitude of genres and attracts patrons from all over the country.
EarthCry Enlightens Listeners Through His Modular Musical Realm
‘Sun Path’ is the latest solo album released by EarthCry— Anthony Thogmartin, Papadosio’s lyricist brainchild, producer, and guitarist. More than just a musical side project, Sun Path, is the second album in a progressive project dedicated to the fusion of experimental electronic music and an earth-minded movement. What’s truly unique about SunPath is Thogmartin’s exploration of the modular synthesizer. By manipulating the analog electric signal, it was possible to experiment and create vast organic and flowing sonic sounds. Representing Thogmartin’s own personal growth and journey to inspire, “sun path”, is a reference to the positional changes of the sun and solar energy that is emitted as our Earth rotates and orbits around the sun.

Boulder Based Trio, Spectacle, Releases ‘LUCI’ EP
The Boulder based trio, Spectacle, has caught our eye this year. With a unique and original sound, they blend in quite well with a Colorado sound that we have began to enjoy. The first got on our radar when they supported Lucid Vision & Skydyed at the Bluebird Theatre in Denver, earlier this January. Since then, they have performed various shows at Cervantes’ and it has been fun watching this group grow musically. We wanted to help this growing band spread their music a bit, so we hope you enjoy the music and you can read some quotes from the band below. Read More
